Room for Style: Let's Plunge into Pattern

Let's Plunge into Pattern - Home Decor - Living After Midnite
I know many people are scared to attempt putting pattern in a room let alone mixing patterns, but it's not as hard as you think. Even adding one pattern to a room can really make a difference. Feeling risky? Why not attempt to add more that one pattern, just do them in different scales (large, medium, small) & it's guaranteed to look awesome.

Just want to add one pattern? Try adding a printed chair!

Fabric: Kravet

An easy way to add a mix of pattern is to experiment with throw pillows! These pillows share common colors that can help you ease into pattern mixing.

Fell in love with a floral pattern? Mix a plaid or check print fabric in the same color!

Here we have a floral print mixed with 2 geometric patterns. This works because the geometric patterns are two different sizes & their colors were pulled from the floral pattern.

Working patterns into your decor helps get away from a "flat" looking room. Color helps create interest in a room, but nothing says WOW more than pattern!

Will you be taking the plunge?

I'm Gonna Stay 18 Forever

It's all about the Music on Living After Midnite
Letting you in on something you may not know about me today…

I went to college to study Music Business. Growing up music was a huge part of my life. My younger brother was in a band, I used to put together local shows, concerts were a regular part of my weekly routine, so going to school for Music Business seemed natural. If you told me 10 years ago that my life would revolve around fashion and not music I would’ve never believed you especially considering my wardrobe consisted of band t-shirts & ripped jeans that went really well with all my piercings & multi colored hair…#notkidding.

I worked in the Music Business for 3 years; I traveled around the United States & Canada, met people never imagined I would and really got to learn all aspects of the industry itself. While it wasn’t for me I have so many amazing memories to look back on.

Is there any song that when you listen to it, it instantly triggers a memory from your past? This playlist brings me to my late teens/early twenties, when music was all that mattered. These songs were the soundtrack to those years, and listening to them now brings me back to all the awesome experiences I had. Compiling it seriously made me nostalgic, and now that I put it together I’ll probably be listening to it on repeat for the next couple of months…

style tab, fashion blogger, tutti frutti,

Hey Living After Midnite fans! I'm Katherine from Style Tab and I'm so excited to be guest posting for Jackie today! One of my favorite micro trends for spring fruity prints. Whether it's berries, bananas or something citrus, I can't get enough of the bright, fun designs. Way back in 2010, Stella McCartney's 2011 S/S ready-to-wear collection kicked off the fruit print frenzy. Ever since then big names like Loeffler Randall and Kate Spade have gotten in on the action as well. To be honest, I haven't seen a fruit print I haven't liked yet. From your iPhone to your nails, this trend is pretty versatile and you can really have fun with it. Now all this fruit talk makes me want a smoothie!

How do you feel about fruit prints? Will you be trying them out this season? Thanks for reading!

Hi guys! My name is Tiffany Olson, and I write the blog Tiffany Style.  I was so excited when Jackie asked me to guest post today because I just love Jackie and love meeting new fashion friends in the blogging world. So hello!

A tiny bit about me: I am from Georgia and on a typical day you'll find me running around to every fashion event in Atlanta I can get to. I do freelance social media and fashion writing, and my dream job is to end up at Paris Fashion Week one day..... (I feel like if I keep putting it out there, it will happen! Right?)

As for my style, my blog focuses on a lot of high/low.  I love mixing super inexpensive finds with investment pieces.  I also love experimenting with new looks, and occasionally breaking some of the rules.  For this look today, I am wearing a dress I just scooped up from Old Navy. Right before summer I love to stock up on inexpensive dresses like this that can be thrown on and worn for anything from errand running to casual dinners. I'll be wearing this dress all summer with flats, wedges, sandals ... you name it. I think it would be really easy to style with a belt or big statement necklace as well.

What is your go-to look for spring and summer?

Thank you for having me today!! Feel free to get in touch with me on twitter @tiffanytweet or instagram @tiffanyolson! :)

Dress: Old Navy, Heels: Valentino (found at Last Call by Neiman Marcus on sale last fall!), Purse: Gucci, Pearl Cuff: Zara (obsessed), Sunnies: Valentino, Watch: Michael Kors, Spike bracelet: Stella and Dot

When I found out lace would be one of the trends we'd be covering in our Spring Edition of East vs. West Style I knew I'd be sporting white lace! I literally don't think I can count the number of white lace items in my closet currently & now thanks to Lulu's I have one more!

White lace & denim is a definitely favorite combination of mine! The denim dresses down the white lace, then the coral strappy sandals elevates the wow factor!

More lace favorites...
