SAG Awards

I couldn't choose an absolute favorite at the SAG Awards last night because I was obsessed with 2 dresses! Mila Kunis & Dianna Argon looked perfect in my opinion. Mila Kunis wearing an Alexander McQueen printed dress was amazing. Everything worked...the color, the pattern, her hair, her makeup...everything. I have a soft spot in my heart for McQueen & this was perfect. Dianna Argon looked amazing also. I loved that she chose to wear an ankle length gown. So perfect and completely different in a sea of floor length gowns. I love the navy blue color & sequins with her blonde hair. She just looked amazing.

Dianna Argon in Chanel Haute Couture
Jayma Mays is beautiful in my opinion, I love her red hair. I wish I could pull it off, I tried once and it didn't go so well! This peach Jenny Packham dress is so different. I love how she swept her hair behind her shoulder to show off the shoulder detailing.
mark. makeup artist Mai Quynh created Jayma's look for the night using mark. Bronze Pro Powder, Good Glowing Blush in After Glo & LipClick in Bare Hug. Bare Hug is one of Mai's MUST HAVE products during Awards Season 2011! She not only used it on Jayma Mays here, but Emma Stone wore it at the 2011 Golden Globes.

I also LOVED Sarah Hyland's orange gown which was so young and fresh. I also loved that she wore her hair down, she's known for wearing her hair up at awards shows and I'm so glad she opted to wear it down because her hair is gorgeous. Lastly I'm surprised to say Lea Michele's dress was gorgeous. She hasn't been impressing me lately because I feel like she's always played in safe in the same style dresses on the red carpet but I love how simple and elegant this gown was. The detailing and necklace was beautiful. Loved it!

Snow Snow & more SNOW

OMG thats the only thing to say about the amount of snow NY has gotten this winter. In one month we've had 6 storms & 1 actual blizzard. At the rate we're going it feels like its never going to stop. I think it actually snowed every single day this week and the forecast says to expect more snow on Tuesday & Wednesday. One of the local news stations said NY has gotten more snow this winter than Anchorage, Alaska, and I believe it. Currently crossing my fingers that on Groundhog Day that little guy doesn't see his shadow so we don't have 6 more weeks of Winter...but something tells me he's going to be running back into his hole on February 2nd.
These 2 little monsters are the only ones that enjoyed the 39 inches of snow this month. Like they're matching sweaters...those lasted about an hour before they were soaking wet and needed to come off.
The snow was so high they couldn't even walk through it they were hopping around like rabbits! They play hard...then they sleep hard. What a life!

California Dreams

AHHH so excited!! Katy Perry is finally going on a US Tour. I feel like for the past 3 years all she's done are international tours & nothing in the states!! I got to see her perform at the Teen Choice Awards last summer but that wasn't enough. I love her & of course I got on Ticketmaster at 10am the morning presale started & got 2 tickets to her Nassau Coliseum Show!! I can't believe I have to wait 5 months!! Ugh its killing me, I started listening to her albums on the snowy commute to work this morning mentally planning the outfit I want to wear. Who am I kidding...the show is in June & I'm already planning my outfit! So excited! Anyone else going to one of her shows?

I must really be on a Katy Perry kick. Being the nail polish fiend that I am I just ordered the Katy Perry OPI Polish collection on Amazon! I couldn't be bothered to try to find it in a store so I ordered mini bottles of all the colors plus the Black Shatter top coat online! Great now heres another thing I 'll have to wait for...at least I'll only have to wait 3 to 5 business days for these! Then I have the hard decision on which one to wear first!

Red Red WhINEy

Don't ask but I've had that reggae song "Red Red Wine" (I don't even know if that's the name of the song) stuck in my head for 2 days. I didn't hear it anywhere so I have no clue what made me think of it.

Now that I got that useless tidbit out of the way, Hello There Everyone!! It is one of the coldest days in NY in 10 years. Driving to work this morning my car said it was 2 degrees. Gotta love it...not really. Don't get me wrong, I don't mind the cold, I mean come on I live in NY I can't say I hate it, but 2 degrees is insanity.

My wine colored lips brightened my day a little bit. I had to wear my coat, hat & gloves all day at work with my space heater blowing at my face because it was SO cold but hey at least my makeup looked good!

I didn't think I would like the combo of Berry Cheeks & Berry Lips but I love it!! Just Pinched in Berry is the perfect winter flushed cheek color. So glad I picked it up!
Had a little too much fun on Picnik today! How cool would it be if my hair was this color!

Knifty Knitter DIY

I have a hat & scarf obsession. I completely blame the hat obsession on my family; when I was little the fun thing to do was buy Jackie crazy hats and make her wear them. I must've had hundreds...and I'm not exxagerating...hundreds of hats from little green plastic St. Patricks Day hats to furry winter hats. So now I'm just a "hat person". Still to this day if I get a new hat I always have to show my grandpa, he got a kick out of the leopard hat here.

Freshman year of college me and my friends got on this knitting kick. Just about every girl on campus had a Knifty Knitter. It is basically the idiot proof way to knit. When I was little my grandmas both taught me how to crochet & knit but I only learned how to make one stitch and never got around to learning how to connect them...pointless. So the Knifty Knitter is amazing. Every winter it makes its way out of the dark side of my closet and I am a knitting machine. I think one year every single person on my Christmas list got a scarf.

With all the snow we've been getting in NY I've had a lot of time off from work. I don't think I've worked a full week since before Christmas (believe me I'm not complaining! lol) Luckily I found some super cute super soft yarn leftover from last winter & got to knitting.

I made a hat with a flower - not going to lie I'm pretty proud of myself - and a circle scarf to match!! Pick up a Knifty Knitter & some cute yarn & start knitting!! You'll never had to buy a scarf again!

Golden Globes

Clearly I only watch the Golden Globes to see what people are wearing...and let me tell you I was pleasantly surprised this year.
I am LOVING long sleeved gowns...OMG. I can't explain how much I loved Angelina Jolie & Anne Hathaway. I think Angelina surprised everyone stepping out in something that wasn't black! & green is definitely one of my favorite evening colors. Then Anne Hathaway took it to a whole other level with this dress...the shoulders....the Swarovski crystals...in the words of her stylist Rachel Zoe "I DIE".

I have to go to a black tie wedding in February and I was going through my mom's closet for something to wear when I found the beautiful long sleeved strong shouldered gold gown that she wore as Maid of Honor at her best friend's wedding and I almost died! I died even more when I tried it on & there was a stain on the front of it. But I'm determined to find something amazing for the wedding & with these 2 women stepping out in long sleeved gowns I know my love for them is here to stay!
Angelia Jolie in Atelier Versace. Anne Hathaway in Armani Prive.

Next Sandra Bullock & Megan Fox in Pale Pink. Another OMG moment. The pale color with just the right amount of crystals and their dark hair is perfect! The embordiery on Sandra's dress is amazing & I love the bandage detail on the bodice of Megan's. Love Love Love.

And then there was Olivia Wilde. I am just completely & totally jealous of this entire outfit. She looks like a princess in this Marchesa ball gown. Who wouldn't absolutely die to wear this embrodiered gown. I can't even put into words how much I love it. Then she lifted up the skirt and showed us her totally unexpected studded gold Louboutin booties. I can't. What I would do if I had those shoes? I don't think they would ever leave my feet.

Pour la Victoire

Just picked up these sweet Pour la Victoire grey leather "deon" ankle boots at Bluefly. I've been going back at forth about getting them after I saw Olivia Palermo in a similar Proenza Schouler pair. If you can't have the real thing get the look a like! The worst part about ordering online is waiting for the package to come!
Guess how much I paid? These retail at $341. On Bluefly they're down to $205 PLUS I had a $30 off coupon. $175 for a $341 pair of shoes...I think so! I love sales & coupons...& Bluefly!

Purple Passion Blue Bombshell

I'm feeling a little under the weather & what a better way to spend my Saturday than painting my nails, watching Eclipse (I love me some R-Pattz) & reading magazines trying to get better. I feel like I needed a bright color on my nails, maybe it would do some magic. It feels very Katy Perry/California Gurls, if that doesn't make me feel a little better than I don't know what will.
(btw I don't know what this sudden obsession with painting one nail a different color came from)

The weather outside is frightful

Snowed in again in NY. Well not "snowed in" more like "snowed enough to leave work early and curl up in bed all day." I'm not feeling too hot & would give anything to be sleeping in this bed right now! Not that I don't love my room, but this bed just looks like it has the power to make to feel better.

Nothing says Happy New Year like Champagne Nails!

Like I said in my New Years post, its all about sparkle & sequins this time of year. That definitely doesn't exclude nails! Forever 21 is my new favorite place to buy nail polish. They get me every time...I'm waiting online to buy something & there's that container filled with nail polish in the BEST colors & I can't help but look through. By the time I walk out the door there are at least 3 bottles in my bag.

In my latest F21 adventure I picked up these 2 awesome shades. I used one coat of the Taupe color & added on 2 coats of the Gold on top. It ended up being this Perfect Champagne Shade.
