A few weeks ago I had the opportunity to meet with a group of home decorators from
Wallauer's Design Center. They know color, style, pattern, texture and everything needed to pull a room together. And while we were chatting it got me thinking...
decorating a room isn't much different than dressing yourself. Who doesn't like a well decorated room? The same goes for a perfect outfit.
Let me introduce you to my mom, Wendy. She is the reason why I am who I am, style obsessed & constantly changing. She's been a decorator at heart long before it became her career. I grew up with her constantly rearranging furniture, reupholstering & adding creative touches to every room in our house.
She taught me that color is the foundation of any room and you build from there by adding layers, texture, pattern and accessories. A room can be fully furnished with all the necessary furniture and still look unfinished. You finish a room with window treatments, artwork, area rugs and accessories just like you would finish an outfit with make up, jewelry and accessories.
All of this got me thinking...wouldn't this be an awesome Blog Series??
I hope you think so because my mom & I will be collaborating on this new Room for Style series every other week!! We'll be discussing ALL Things Style and how interior decorating & fashion go hand in hand! Some of the topics we've been working on are monochromatic looks, color blocking & mixing patterns!
Here's a Sneak Peek at a few rooms we're currently obsessed with & the Spring 2013 colors we're loving!
So what do you think? Are you as excited as we are about this Mother/Daughter Collaboration?
