Lets fall in love with Fall with a little help from layering!
When I think of Fall I envision being curled up in my favorite chair wrapped in a soft blanket by the fire. Well you can have that same feeling by decorating in layers.
In a family or living room make sure you have an area rug covering the hard floor, no one likes walking on a cold floor. Next, find a blanket or throw that compliments the room and drape it over the arm or back of one of the upholstered pieces in the room. Throw pillows are a MUST in a room and why not add some large floor pillows so you can lay close by the fire, that is if you have a fire place, if not make sure you always have candles around the room. And lastly, window treatments...
Drapes always make a room feel cozy and not just one layer. You have your blinds or shade for privacy, then add a pair of panels. Mount them above the frame of the window and have them fall to the floor. This is another way to add color, texture or pattern to your room.
Bedrooms are the easiest room to layer. I love an over done bed. I know you are all thinking it's a chore to get into bed and make it if you have multiple layers, but the end result is definitely worth it!
