The colors black & white are neutrals and the easiest colors to work into any color scheme! Black is an aggressive bold color, while white is a receding color. As a decorator I describe them as the
negative &
positive colors, they go with everything!
It is very common to use the most white in a kitchen because white cabinetry is so versatile in any style!
Here you see how combining black & white in a kitchen brings dimension. By using the color black on the bottom it anchors the room, while white upper cabinets help make the room feel open and spacious!
It's more common to have the color white in your color scheme because most people choose white for their trim of their walls or when they are too overwhelmed, but I always like to have a little black in a room. I feel it grounds it!
