Sometimes you just
have to bend the rules and skip out on work early to meet your friends for a
picnic in the park and enjoy the amazing weather NY has been having. Spending
all day in office with a teeny tiny little window can definitely take a toll on
me during the warmer weather months and I look for just about ANYTHING (running to the bank, checking the mail,
literally anything) to get me out in the fresh air for a little bit, so when
Megan suggested an afternoon picnic in the park I was all in! Can you believe that I've never had a picnic before? Okay well I guess my mom took me on a few when I was little, but I haven't been on one in at least 20 years! French macarons,
fresh fruit and some cold lemonade (ok
maybe spiked lemonade) on a hot and humid 85 degree day was pretty much the
perfect fix to my cabin office
fever. Getting to hang out with blogger friends outside of events and shoots is so fun. Don't get me wrong being invited to so many parties is an honor and I would never have made such great friends if I didn't get those opportunities, but hanging out in a casual setting really allows us to let lose and be ourselves without worrying about networking.
I’m usually not one
to bend the rules, but every once in a while you just have to live a little.
Skipping out on work early…so not my style, but when I look back and realize
how much extra time and effort I put into what I do all year round I see that I
deserve a little bit of me time away from the office.
