To color or not to color...that is the question! When you tackle a new decorating project you have to think in layers, one of which is obviously your wall color. I usually get inspired by my fabrics, then choose a wall color that compliments it. Recently what I've been finding is that while colored walls will always be a favorite for some, neutral wall colors are quickly gaining popularity. By sticking to a neutral paint color on your walls you can go crazy with your fabrics and it gives you the options to change it up whenever you want to!
Not sure what color neutral to go with? Here are my favorite Benjamin Moore Neutral Paint Colors, but if you plan on painting don't just pick a color from a swatch and start painting!! Get a few samples of shades you like and paint actual swatches on your walls. Depending on how much light (both natural and artificial) you have in your space the color can look completely different than what it looked like in the store.
Whether you plan on keeping the rest of your room neutral or going bold and colorful with your decor neutral walls are a decision you won't regret! Even if you're not sure which route you're going to take when it comes to furniture and decorations when you have neutral wall paint as a base it's easy to change up the decor of your room whenever it strikes your fancy.
Shop items that will both compliment & contrast your neutral walls:
