Your house is all decorated for Christmas, now it's time to set the table for your big Holiday dinner! Whether you're planning a dinner for 2 or 15 make your table special for the gathering. It doesn't have to be crystal, china and fancy linens, all you need is some holiday spirit and a little bit of creativity!
Let me show you some of my favorite table settings for the Holiday season...
An easy way to make your table a little more festive is to make candles your centerpiece. Not only does it set the mood and allow you to lower harsh overhead lights, but it's SO easy and since you more than likely have candles in your home this table upgrade costs you nothing! Even if you splurge and pick up a few new candles and candlestick holders, they are not only great for holiday decorating, but also great for decorating year round.
Another way to freshen up your table for the Christmas time is by keeping it clean and simple with festive flowers and greenery. Pick up a few colorful bouquets and fresh garland or greenery and create a custom centerpiece that would look great as the focal point of your Holiday table.
Dress your table with a festive pattern tablecloth or table runner. Plaid will always be my favorite Holiday pattern and it can instantly make even the simplest of tables holiday ready! If you're in a pinch this is the best option to get your dining table ready for guests fast! If you don't have a plaid tablecloth you can also dress your table with a plaid scarf or throw.
Gold dishes and silverware are a great addition to any Christmas table! They are very on trend at the moment but are also something that will never go out of style. New gold dinnerware and silverware may be a little bit of an investment, but your guests will no doubt be impressed.
Chargers, especially festive ones, are another simple way to upgrade your Holiday dinner table. Depending on your decorating style there are many options for chargers and when you set your table with them they instantly pull the whole tablescape together!
Now it's your turn, go through your closet, drawers and cabinets and pull it all together. And remember not every place setting needs to be the same, get creative...and don't eat too much!
